In our continuing partnership with Border Angels, we were able to donate $1000 to the Caravan of Love to provide refugees and asylum seekers still waiting in shelters in Tijuana. With that $1000 we were able to provide 3 shelters with fresh fruits and vegetables, rice, beans, bread, water, medicine, diapers, clothing, blankets and other necessities. Members of the NCJA, including some of our kid members, traveled with the Caravan of Love to help purchase and deliver the supplies.
There are multiple ways to volunteer with Border Angels. You can donate supplies to the monthly day-laborer outreach that the NCJA organizes in Encinitas. You can also connect to the Border Angels website to learn of upcoming Caravans of Love, desert water drops and other volunteer opportunities.
